Bachelor in Physiotherapy (BPT) is a 4½-year undergraduate program (including a 6-month compulsory internship) designed to equip students with the knowledge and clinical skills needed to assess, diagnose, and treat physical conditions related to injury, illness, or disability. At Global Group of Institutions, Shivamogga, the program blends academic instruction with hands-on clinical training, preparing students to become competent physiotherapy professionals who can contribute meaningfully to patient recovery and rehabilitation.
Students are introduced to core subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, orthopedics, neurology, and rehabilitation sciences. The program includes supervised clinical postings in hospitals and physiotherapy centers, offering real-time exposure to various patient conditions and treatment environments. The curriculum is designed in accordance with recognized university standards and regulatory guidelines.
The BPT program aims to develop skilled physiotherapists capable of delivering effective and ethical patient care. It focuses on building a strong foundation in basic and applied medical sciences while encouraging clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and therapeutic skills. The course also aims to foster professionalism, empathy, and communication skills essential for interacting with patients and healthcare teams.
Graduates are trained to work independently or as part of multidisciplinary healthcare teams in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, sports clinics, and community health settings, as well as to pursue higher studies or research in specialized areas of physiotherapy.
